Efficiency Increasing System - 2262 Words

EFFICIENCY INCREASING SYSTEM BY USING PREHEATING METHOD METHODOLOGY The concept of increasing the fuel efficiency of a petrol engine in this project, is to pre-heat the intake air which is flowing through the carburetor. The humidity in the atmospheric air affects the petrol vapourisation in the carburettor. Therefore, by pre-heating the inlet air to the carburettor for a considerable amount, the vapourisation can be ease and in turn complete combustion is achieved. Moreover by reducing the water vapour to the engine, the steam formation in the engine can be reduced pitting of the engine cylinder, piston and exhaust pipe. The pre-heating of inlet air to the engine can be achieved by fixing a heat exchanger inside the exhaust†¦show more content†¦The air fuel ratio must change depending when maximum Economy or maximum power is required. Also required air-fuel ratio must be provided for transient conditions like starting, warm up, and acceleration. Further in all conditions the consideration of minimum exhaust emission should be kept in mind. For automotive Engines there are three main areas of steady state operation requiring different air fuel ratios. 1. Idling and Low Load The no load running made of the Engine is called idling. During idling the air supply is restricted by the nearly closed throttle and the suction pressure is very low. This condition of low pressure gives rise to back flow of exhaust gases and air leakage from the various parts of the Engine intake system. At idling and during part load operation back flow during the valve overlap period occurs since the exhaust pressure is higher than the intake pressure. This increases the amount of residual gases. The problem of dilution by residual gases becomes more pronounced at low loads and idling because the exhaust temperature reduces with decreasing load, i.e., the density and hence mass of the residual gases increase. The amount of fresh charge brought in during idling is much less than that during full throttle operation. The presence of exhaust gas tends to obstruct the contact of fuel and air particles a requirement necessary for satisfactory combustion. Organization Information and Communication Technology

Question: Discuss about the Organization of Information and Communication Technology. Answer: Introduction Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is an integral part of any organization in the present world. Outsourcing of ICT refers to the process of using the external service providers and solutions to deliver the demands as per the business. IT-enabled processes, application and utility services along with cloud-aided services are some of the keys areas and functionalities that are generally outsourced by an organization to a third party in the business[1]. Objectives of Outsourcing of ICT for Organizations The basic objectives of outsourcing that the CEO and other top management officials would try to achieve out of the strategy are: Reduction of unnecessary expenditure that goes in operation costs. Allocating the resources to other areas as per their level of expertise to gain better productivity and efficiency. Maximum utilization of resources that is third party or external to the organization. Streamlining of all the processes and the techniques that are followed in the organization. Successful risk mitigation is another area that is targeted as one of the prime objectives of the strategy Marty Pine[2]. Pros of Outsourcing ICT There are a number of advantages that would result for the organization to outsource its ICT which are described as below: First and the foremost benefit that would come out of this process are in terms of cost savings. A lot of operational cost is reduced by outsourcing the parts and services of ICT. Overhead costs can also be avoided with this process. There are a number of technological changes and advancements that take place on a frequent basis. Outsourcing helps in keeping pace with such rapid changes by getting the latest in every field. Outsourcing vendors hire the staff that is qualified and utmost talented when it comes to the knowledge and capabilities. Flexibility is another area that would benefit with the outsourcing process. Internal resource management would also become easy and simpler to manage by outsourcing the staff. Cons of Outsourcing ICT Along with the advantages, there are also certain drawbacks that would require attention by the organization after outsourcing ICT. There would be some of the IT functions related to the organization which would not be easy to outsource such as the core-IT functions or the ones that would be associated with critical and sensitive information. Control and direct management of the functions that would be outsourced would not be possible which may result in alteration from the designated path. There may be a scenario that would come up after the outsourcing of ICT which may result in lesser requirement of resources which may eventually lead to lay-offs. Such a case would result in lower employee morale and involvement. Documentation is another area that would be difficult to monitor after the outsourcing process[3]. Different Outsourcing Delivery Models Onsite/Offshore Model This is the outsourcing delivery model in which the staff is associated full-time for the project from the beginning till the end and is chosen on the basis of skills as required by the project. The process would work out as described below: Onsite/Offshore Delivery Model Project Outsourcing Delivery Model It is the model in which the complete cycle of project development such as planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing and maintenance is included. In this model, the complete project is outsourced to an external vendor which fits perfectly for small and medium sized organizations and their services. Project Outsourcing Delivery Model Software Centres This is the model in which a dedicated software development centre would be set up at a third party location for design and delivery of the services. Process followed in Software Centres Project Staffing This is the model that suffices the need of immediate demands in the varied skill set such as developers, testers and analysts at a very short notice. The resources are screened for selection through a number of different processes and are then selected for a specified period of time or budget[4]. Scope for the Organization Following are the areas and activities that would be covered in the outsourcing process: Tasks those are critical for the organization but do not play a vital role in the strategy such as shipping and delivery processes. Tasks that would aid in the development and testing processes such as maintenance of the tool, updating of the tool and reporting. Commodity tasks for the organizations would also be outsourced. Maintenance activities such as after-sales support and post-production issues and their handling shall also be outsourced. Process Flow Model Process Flow Model Request for Information (RFI) Introduction The document would provide the need for further information from the vendor for the development tool that would be necessary for the organization in its processes and activities. Organization Overview The organization is a firm that provides web services and solutions to a vast number of people and businesses with the use information and communication technology. Project Overview The project for which the request is being places is an application to be developed for XYZ Corporations under the finance domain. It would be a portal to manage the operations of the company with three major components as admin, clients and staff members. RFI Process Requirements Participation to RFI All basic partners who want to participate needs to inform the organization within 2 months from receiving of the RFI, regarding their Intent to Respond. If they fail to confirm, it will indicate that the basic partners are not willing to participate in the RFI the organization will have to immediately return the RFI. Each of the basic partners who confirm their participation needs to send their Intent to respond duly to the organization. RFI Schedule 06/09/2016 RFI made available to the bidders 06/09/2016 + 60 days, 10:00 AM Deadline for questions addressing 06/09/2016 + 60 days Response to all questions 06/09/2016 + 60 days, 12:00 PM Deadline for bid receiving (all material) 08/09/2016 + 3 weeks Bids are to be evaluated. All of the bidders will be asked to present their solution to the organization. Live demonstrations may be carried in this presentation. 08/09/2016 + 4 weeks Decision to e taken launch an RFP Liabilities The RFI is basically an application for information on potential services/products and no contractual responsibility on part of the organization would arise from this RFI application and its processes. The RFI doesnt require the organization to take care of any costing incurred in the submission or the preparation of their response for the RFI applications. High Level Requirements The development tool that is required for the project shall fulfill the following specifications: Compatibility with the operating systems such as Windows 7/Vista/10 on 32 and 64 bit platforms and Linux Easy to use interface User manual and specification document should come along with the tool The tool shall be licensed for a minimum of one year and shall be installed on at least 15 different workstations The tool shall allow the development of the code in the languages such as HTML, JSP, PHP, ASP.NET, JAVA and C++ The tool shall also allow the feature of debugging The tool shall be connected to the database such as SQL Server or MySQL The tool shall allow easy connectivity over a local area network The tool shall not cost above USD 2500 The tool shall have the scope of up-gradations Reporting facility shall be integrated with the tool Evaluation Methodology Tenders will be evaluated on the basis of the following parameters: Firstly to make sure the offer is agreeable, and that all of its parts are done, then to look at survey every parts, to recognize the best regard for cash offers. It is very important to make sure that the vital aptitudes are considered into the group. For example, a money related master, a specialized master, an acquiring master and, if important, a business or legitimate master. Financial assessment is the next major step in the evaluation process of a tender for a potential supplier which shall include All the costs are clearly stated and covered in the price that is quoted All the price escalation criteria and formulae that are applied are accurate Cost of spares is included Eligible discounts are applied Retentions are clearly identified Technical Assessment shall be carried out by the technical experts and members present in the group. In the event that point by point explanations were supplied for some specific reason, everything about be thoroughly checked to ensure it conforms to the first. Assuming, be that as it may, a utilitarian particular was issued, and then the checks that needs to be constrained to guarantee the hardware or management offered will fulfill the requisites of the end-client. And any of the choices or changes offered needs to be checked exclusively, whether someone is more practical than other. This will, again must be confirmed with whatever remains from the group, preceding positive options being come to. Where important, it is allowable to check with the bidder to determine that the creation limit or labor asserted is truth been told accessible. This is probably best done by doing according to the bidders' premises and completing a proper investigation. Capacity assessment should then be done in order to make sure there are no underlying costs and efforts associated. This would then be followed by a final decision review[5]. Assessment of Supplier Performance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Quality of the product Accuracy of the delivery process Mean time between failures Response time Status of the costs Reduced or maintained Delivery time Adherence to schedule Terms and conditions around payments Account management Responsiveness[6] Service Level Agreements (SLAs) The type and category of services that are being provided Delivery schedule for the services Roles and responsibilities of supplier and consumer Handling of disputes Termination specifications Legal compliance Recommendations and Conclusions Outsourcing of ICT is a key step that is being taken by the organization and the following recommendations are made for successful execution of the same. Adaptation to the strategies defined in project outsourcing delivery model. Commodity tasks, maintenance tasks and critical components that do not take part in strategy definition shall be outsourced. Incremental-iterative approach shall be followed in data migration and conversion process. Evaluation of suppliers and tenders shall be done on the basis of requirement, quality, delivery, cost and key features. Style Of John Steinbeck - Creative Story Essays - Wind, Soil, Akubra

Style Of John Steinbeck - Creative Story There was a beauty in the death of the cattle. A kind of frustrated satisfaction that is wrought from an uphill struggle finally over, despite ending the journey at the foot of the mountain. Gaunt bodies littered the fractured earth, creating a stillness in the air, a sense of a battle just over; a battle where each side had slaughtered all the warriors of the other. The shriveled mounds of stagnant meat were dissolving into the air, creating a rankness that completed the mood. Rib bones pointed defiantly at the sun, making a final stand against the cruelty of nature; shouting a silent message into the wind which carried the loud stench of all that is inevitable and frightening. The sky before dusk was filled with heat and light, an emptiness that promised nothing, yet held the fate of many. The heat robbed the earth of its life and stole the cool laughter of the creeks. The light exploded into raucous laughter at the ill fate of the living, and mocked the cows as they expelled a last pathetic grunt into the night. The cows closed their saddened eyes with an agony so intense that every soul filled creature felt a strange loss of dignity in their bones. And the great old trees wept until the morning. The bodies signed the soil with an ink of blood, and sealed the fate of the land. The very grains of dirt seemed to have declared war upon one another, lining up on their distinct sides, refusing to mix with the enemy, refusing to join as one. The blood of the cows, thick and sticky, only painted the anger of the soil, riling the earthen warriors. Dying seeds begged the heat and light to subside, and invited the rains to clean the bloody warpaint from the dirt armies. And the light laughed in their faces. An ancient diplomat raised an angry fist and imposed order upon the universe. Time heals all wounds, even those of the heart, so when the heart of the land was torn apart and all breathing entities felt the pain of its injury, time stepped in and began to end the feuding. The brittle cow bones lying alone in the sun forgot their pride and crumbled into nothingness. The young saplings on the brink of death were enticed by time to fight on. A worker of miracles, time carried with it a perpetual flame, an infinite and sombre vow: peace. It threw the flame upon the dying land, and fought the heat and the light with a fire of the ages. As night drew a blue-grey curtain over the sky, time rationed out hope to those who had waited for it. The great old trees felt a song of dignity in the wind, and stopped weeping. The light and the heat, even in the depths of the night, could feel themselves being opposed by force stronger then they could resist. They could feel a cloud of justice bear down upon them, and they were afraid of the morning. Ed Hummel had not been anticipating the ruthlessness of the drought. His cattle were strewn, starved and bloated, across the dry dirt paddocks. The grass which had coloured the fields a wonderful green just a few short months earlier had surrendered to the sun's fury, and now decorated the red dirt with touches of brown. The sun obscured the view with shimmering mirages and Ed squinted to gaze hopefully at the horizon. It only the drought would subside, if only the rain would come and fill the drinking troughs and renew the moisture to the earth. Renew the moisture and wash away the stale cow bodies that lay where new summer grass should be. If only. Ed's anxious eyes measured the cracks in the soil, and tested the moisture by kicking up the dust with his old workboots. He pulled his akubra hat down over his freckled ears, protecting his balding head from the fate of his cattle. Sweat glistened on his forehead and ran down his back. His dog had collapsed beneath an old resilient gum tree, and he aspired to join him, but not before

Middle Ages

Imagine yourself in the Middle Ages in Norway on a cold winters night. Your laying in bed looking out your window at the stars as you do every night before you go to bed. Your looking at the stars and then all of the sudden you see a faint glow appear on the horizon. You see green and red flames of light strech across the sky. A glowing curtain of light forms, waving and swirling in the sky above you. The lights last about thirty seconds and then the lights fade away and then soon dissapers. The sky is dark and clear with the stars shining down on you. It was almost as nothing had happend. You are astonished and facinated with what you have just witnessed but dont understand what it was. You have just witnessed the Aurora Borealis or more commonly known today as the Northern Lights. The Ancient Romans named this awsome natural phenomenon the Aurora Borelis which is a Latin name. Aurora was the name of a Roman goddess of the dawn. Borelis For thousands of years, the northern lights have fascinated and astonished the human imagination, leading to stories, myths and paintings to explain their mysteries. Beyond superstion, culture, mysticism and religous beliefs lie to explanations provided by research and science. The oldest desriptions of the aurora are from the the Mediterranean countries and from ancient China. Most people in these Regions would of only have seen the northern Lights once or twice in their lives. A wonderful article in National Geographic explains that in the sixth century BC, Ezekil, a profit - priest of ancient Israel, saw the aurora and wrote ...a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itseslf, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire. After Ezekil was the famous Greek philospher Aristotle who observed the aurora and described it as lights th...

Discussion Board Post Response Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words - 4

Discussion Board Post Response - Essay Example Keeping in mind your discussion Jayne Aniagor, it is worth inferring that meeting all the requirements in terms of standards in a healthcare facility contributes to the creation of a conducive working environment. Consequently, nurses and other healthcare providers are likely to be satisfied with their jobs and be greatly motivated in an environment that they are certain of their safety. Nurse retention is also likely to be higher in institutions that meet the necessary requirements. Melissa Jenkins, your discussion is spot-on as it clearly gives the reader a lucid disparity between trailing indicators and leading indicators. Melissa, the example of your organization whereby you cite nurturing future leaders as a leading indicator corresponds with the factual definition of a leading indicator. Additionally, there are certain aspects within a healthcare institution, as you cite in your discussion, such as the profit and loss margins that can be either trailing indicators or leading indicators depending on the timeframe in question. Preceding data in regard to profit and loss margins can be extrapolated to show projected margins in future and this is important when charting future organizational goals and objectives (Laureate Education,

Medical Specialties Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words

Medical Specialties - Essay Example Pulmonologists specialize in treatment of diseases and other conditions of the lungs. This is subspecialty of internal medicine, and it is necessary that one becomes an internist first before being a pulmonologist (What as a Pulmonologist, 2000). An infectious disease specialist is an internist or podiatrist concerned with the treatment of infectious diseases, especially of "sinuses, heart, brain, lungs, urinary tract, bowel, bones and pelvic organs." Usually, they work in conjunction with other specialists to diagnose and treat more effectively such diseases (Infectious Disease, n.d.). An allergist is a specialist treating allergies. Allergies are the body's defense mechanism against foreign objects such as dust or other particles. However good is the purpose of allergies, they are very uncomfortable for the person having them. Essentially, allergists are there to give a person some kind of relief (Finegold, 2001). Podiatrists are specialists on foot care. There are many diseases and discomforts involving the feet, and even injuries of the feet may cause complications. Therefore, these make the podiatrist important in many ways (Podiatrists, 2007). Proctologists are medical specialists on the diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus. ... Orthopedist Orthopedists are specialists "concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the bones and joints." They are often consulted when people especially players and sports enthusiasts are injured. Comprehensive Information on Internists Introduction As stated earlier, internists specialize in the treatment of internal organs. The purpose of this report is to provide short but comprehensive information on the specialist on internal medicine. It is the author's hope that any pre-medical or medical student will consider being an internist after reading this report. Education and Training To be an internist, a person must first complete the standard four years of undergraduate studies and four years at medical school to become a medical doctor. After which, the would-be internist must spend three to eight years of on-the-job training called residency (General Internist, n.d.). For information on state-specific requirements on how to be an internist, one can consult the Education Online Search's website on the following hyperlink: http://www.education-online-search.com/programs/medical_training/ Common Ailments, Conditions, or Diseases Internists must work with several other specialists depending on the internal organ and disease treatment a particular internist is specializing. For example, if an internist wants to treat hearts, he or she must learn to work with a cardiologist. This is necessary because an internist may not be specifically trained in the specialized procedure needed to treat a disease. Sometimes, internists are not really working with patients having problems in internal organs. It just so happens that they are the available personnel. It happens that they may work together with a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist

An Act of Courage Essay -- Courage Bravery Personal Narratives Essays

An Act of Courage Faced with the task of writing a paper on a specific act of courage my initial reaction was that of total uncertainty. Later that evening, as I lay in my bed watching television I pondered what topic to do for the paper. Then the sportscaster on the news began an interview with Jim Abbott a well-known major league pitcher. I thought to myself, this is perfect! Jim Abbott is a man who shows courage when the odds are against him. He is fulfilling his lifelong dream of playing professional baseball despite the fact that he was born without a right hand. Whenever I see Jim pitch, I am reminded of something that happened when I was about 8 or 9 at summer camp. Before that summer, I had always felt pity for people who were physically challenged especially Justin Berger. Justin, a boy in my age group at Camp Wayne, who was born with some kind of illness that prevented him from controlling the movements of his left hand. I never teased him or talked badly about him to others; what I did in some ways was much worse. I labeled him "different.'; I saw him as inferior and thought that he needed some extra leeway in such activities as sports. However, Justin saw his handicap as a motivator, a reason to work harder and excel in all aspects of camp life. Camp Wayne was very competitive; the summer culminated with four days of intense sports competition called Color War. It was during Color War that my view of Justin changed. During Color War the whole camp is divided into two teams. The teams play each other in various competitions and sports for 4 days and at the end of the fourth day the points are tallied up to see who won. It was the last day of Color War, the day everything would be decided. There was not one camper whose heart wasn't rushing with intense emotions and pride. It was about 3:00, the voice over the intercom said it is now time for second period; everyone except the A & B groups (the youngest campers) go down to the main soccer field to watch the D group soccer game. I laced up my cleats and ran down to the field. Over the years our age group the D group, had earned the reputation of one of the most athletic groups in Camp Wayne history. Just about everyone was gathered in the bleachers to watch our soccer game. Soccer was my sport, by this point I was considered one of the best, the Captain of the Blue team. The coach and I set up ... ...od: Silver Burdett Press, 1990. This book was about people who were told they would never make it but they proved the skeptics wrong. Becoming a scuba instructor

The life of a SCUBA instructor is something that people who have a passion for the water and the beach have imagined as ideal. In fact, it would be the perfect career for most because they think that it would mean spending the rest of one’s life on the beach, languishing under the warm tropical sun and taking a dive in the deep blue cold water. All of these benefits while enjoying a modest salary that allows for enjoyment of the other luxuries in life. For those who become successful as SCUBA instructors, the benefits are even better. One can become a world class instructor who explores old wrecks underneath the ocean and even have their own diving schools. Yet these are all dreams and perceptions of what it is like to be a SCUBA instructor. Not everyone gets a chance to enjoy this life. In fact, it is quite difficult and challenging to become a full fledged SCUBA instructor. In order to become one, there is a series of tests and practical examinations that one needs to undergo. The step after that involves taking additional training to ensure that the licensure is complete. As one SCUBA instructor put it, â€Å"Everyone always imagines a life of relaxation. They always feel as if it is simply swimming once in a while and taking people down for fun dives while getting paid for it. † This is not always the case because it involves a major lifestyle and career change. This also means that there are added responsibilities. The first step in being a SCUBA instructor lies in being able to understand the risks and responsibilities that are involved as well as figuring out the first step that one needs to take to pursue this career. The profession of SCUBA instructor, as previously mentioned, is not an easy one.SCUBA instructor is more of a technical term but the actual role that one plays in most dive operations is one of a dive-master rather than a SCUBA instructor. The main bulk of SCUBA resort operations are taking people down for diving trips.Providing i nstructions to new divers or those who want to improve their skills is only a small part of the entire business. Therefore, for those who want to be SCUBA instructor professionals, training as a dive-master is also necessary. This has been labeled as one of the first disappointments or reality checks that an eager SCUBA instructor has to deal with.It is not so much about teaching students how to dive but also acting as an underwater guide to those who already know how to dive but merely want somebody to lead them and show them around the dive area. This leads to the first aspect that must be considered before pursuing a career as a SCUBA instructor; making sure that if the thought of diving at the same spot in shallow water is something that one will be able to do day in and day out. To ensure that this does not happen, it is usually recommended that SCUBA instructors or applicants find the written job description first and get the proper certification. This leads to higher job satisf action. The reason for this is that it allows for more flexibility with regards to career. Under certain job descriptions, SCUBA instructors may be allowed to handle different classes in different sites depending on the size of the school. The pay grade is much higher, however, depending on the school and the lessons that are taught to the students. Another factor which affects the job pay is the experience that the instructor has which usually means that more experience leads to a better job and hence higher pay. This in return usually leads to a higher rate of job satisfaction. This job satisfaction, however, also requires certain additional qualifications that SCUBA instructors need to comply with. These requirements usually have to deal with the other tasks that a SCUBA instructor may be required to do.For example, most SCUBA instructors are required to have the basic knowledge on how to repair SCUBA gear. This means that the instructor must be proficient with not only one brand o f SCUBA equipment but must also have the knowhow for the other brands. Another requirement that is becoming common among SCUBA instructors is the basic knowledge to pilot a boat. While this is definitely not included in the job description, it is necessary because a number of resort owners would like to save on costs by having one person perform multiple positions. This experience in navigating a boat also carries the additional requirement of nautical licensure and familiarity with the parts of boat from a 15’ skiff to a 48’ cruiser. This also means that while no expertise that is on a specialist level is required a certain level of proficiency with regard to the workings of these basic machines is needed. One of the main draws of being a professional SCUBA instructor is the fact that it allows the individual to live on an island. This is, however, also one of the biggest risks and sources of stress. The reason for this is that living on an island also means that one is isolated from a lot of things in life. From a professional standpoint, this means that when the other duties and requirements, such as those mentioned above, are required, one must be able to deal with those problems with the basic tools. Most dive locations do not have the specialists who can deal with the problem as soon as it happens. These shops are usually located on the main island and need to travel to reach the destination of the dive spot. This means that there is a lag time and any good SCUBA instructor must be able to deal with the events happening immediately. This job hazard is usually very stressful and sometimes even hazardous. The next problem is with regard to the personal life of a SCUBA instructor. Being isolated on dive resorts also means being isolated from members of the family or society. As some studies have shown, prolonged isolation usually leads to certain problems and may lead to greater dangers such as alcoholism which is very dangerous for a SCUBA instruct or. Assignments on dive resorts can last for a span as short as six (6) months and extend to durations as long as six (6) years.Another aspect that a SCUBA instructor must deal with is in regard to interpersonal skills. One must remember that being a SCUBA instructor is not only showing people how to dive but also how one is able to teach. In this line, teaching entails that a person must also be able to communicate to the students just what exactly they must do. The most common problems that even experienced SCUBA instructors need to deal with are the fact that they have to teach people without offending them. Most vacationing divers are largely inexperienced and are not quite adept at even the most basic of diving regulations. In educating these people, it is necessary for the SCUBA instructor to be able to encourage them to learn more without putting them down. This is important because safety practices must always be observed before diving. Other problems with teaching also center on those who have been certified but are only taking their first dive. These are perhaps the most difficult bunch to instruct because they feel that they already know what to do.The self important attitude that most of these certified divers carry is a scary thing because they could always forget the basic safety regulations. As mentioned earlier, in diving, the most important thing is safety because there are a lot of hazards that a diver must deal with during the operation. This is more difficult considering the fact that certain countries have different diving regulations from others and these certified divers may feel that the SCUBA instructor is not an authority. The challenge here, therefore, lies in being able to deal with this people to ensure the safety of the group. Now that these basic requirements and training exercises have been elaborated on, it is also important to discuss the basic steps that one needs to undertake before becoming a SCUBA instructor. The most important step that one needs to take lies in certifying that one is in excellent medical condition. Due to the hazards that divers are exposed to at work, one must be physically fit to endure the rigors of diving. Specific requirements such as a current medical report including blood work, chest X-ray and physical fitness tests are necessary. There is also the matter of valid passport, work permits and of course certification to be a SCUBA instructor. The life of a SCUBA instructor is indeed a very promising one if one is able to carefully study and lay out their plan.As discussed previously, all the considerations such as proper training and expertise are very necessary. Individuals must be prepared for the tasks and responsibilities that the job requires. Aside from this there is also the matter of proper permits and interpersonal skills. One overlooked aspect of being a SCUBA instructor lies in understanding the difference between visiting and island the living on an island because these are two (2) very difficult things. Most people usually feel that living on an island is similar to visiting an island but these are not the same. The reason for this is because people must now deal with the living expenses in relation to the salary that they are provided. Most dive resort owners provide salary based on the cost of living scale of the location. As such, while it may seem that the SCUBA instructor is earning so much more than the locals, the conversion rate when compared to other countries may be much lower than average. This means that while one can live the life of a king on a tropical island, he or she may be a pauper in some other part of the world. To summarize, becoming a SCUBA instructor is not for everyone. While the lure of warm and sunny tropical beaches is definitely alluring, the fact that this is considered a job also means that there is work to be done. It is not all just fun and games. The positive side of this, however, is the fact that it really is much easier to do a job that one loves and enjoys.

Genetic Engineering A New Technology - 1311 Words

Genetic Engineering Genetic engineering is a new technology that is not utilized to its full potential. Often called modern biotechnology, genetic engineering can bring humanity into a better medical and agricultural age. Genetic engineering is an important scientific breakthrough because by altering DNA, scientists can improve food, create organs for transplant, and prevent certain diseases and birth defects. The field of genetic engineering has developed very quickly due to the greater understanding DNA, the agricultural. â€Å"Brewers and bakers also changed grains and flour into preferred products such as beer and bread using small organisms called yeast and the process of fermentation.† (Laney 887) Developing a variety of plants with the ability to grow faster, stronger, and more resistant to foreign invaders is the main goal of plant breeders. With normal plant breeding however, there is little to no guarantee of getting any particular gene or trait from the millions of different plants bred. Unwanted genes can be transferred along with more desirable genes, or while one desirable gene is gained, an undesirable gene can be gained as well because genes of both parent plants are mixed together and re-arranged either randomly in the offspring. These problems keep plant breeders from improving their crop. On the other hand, genetic engineering allows the transfer of one specific g ene or just a few of interest, between either similar or almost completely different organisms.Show MoreRelatedHuman Genetic Engineering is Morally Justified Essay811 Words   |  4 PagesAffirmative—Human Genetic Engineering is Morally Justified When they are finally attempted†¦genetic manipulations will†¦be done to change a death sentence into a life verdict.
